My name is John. I would like to come fishing at your location. What I don't know is how hard it is to canoe your river. And time frames to do a trip. One additional bit of info is that I'm seventy and will be by myself. Are they're shorter trips will quiet water to fish for smallmouth. Any help would be appreciated. John, This is a great question, and we would love to help you out! The Buffalo is a very user friendly River. There are some neat, challenging Rapids but none requiring expert paddling experience. Typically the best time to float the Buffalo is Spring into early summer; however, if we have adequate floating conditions we will float anytime. Being a rainfall dependent river water levels change daily which is why we suggest Spring and early Summer. The float I would suggest is Hasty to Carver: 4 miles and offers great fishing along with that famous Buffalo River Beauty. Hope this helps you out.
