Hi there! Skydive Arizona is a pet-free facility. It is not that we don't like dogs, (we actually LOVE them and we own a pet rescue center: "Round Valley Animal Rescue"). Unfortunately we cannot allow pets at the skydiving facility for several reasons. 1) Our Grass. If you have ever attempted to grow and maintain a large grassy area in Arizona, you know it is very difficult. We spend lot's of time and money trying to keep our grass healthy. Unfortunately, dog urine is damaging to grass. It is impossible for us to find a way to protect our grass from dogs other than to just have a no-dog policy. 2) Gear. parachutes are made from nylon fabric, which can be damaged when in contact with acidic urine. If a skydiver places their parachute on the grass and the grass has any form of urine residue, it could potentially damage the parachute fabric and make the gear un-safe to use. We want to keep all of the skydivers as safe as we can and if we limit the chances of their parachutes touching dog urine, we limit the chances of parachute malfunctions. 3) Safety: Although most puppy parents are good at keeping their dog in control and on a leash, there is always an exception. We simply cannot risk the chance of a loose dog running into the active landing area or even worse, on the tarmac where airplane traffic could cause serious harm to a loose animal. We try our best to let customers know ahead of time by posting this policy online. We are currently exploring options with the city of Eloy to have some sort of doggy-day care available to our customers. We will happily announce if we make headway with this plan. For now, our deepest apologies, please leave the pets at home.
