Hi we are visiting family in early October this year. May seem a sill question but is the safari very bumpy . I desperately want to go during our stay but have a small back problem which is not good at tolerating very bumpy roads . Not expecting a cushioned ride to be honest just need a little advice from someone who’s been . Tia

Hi The roads are gravel but in good condition so not too bumpy. I am sure that your guide will be able to accommodate your needs and maybe avoid very bumpy areas

Hey Tina. From Zulu Nyala it's just over 1 to St Lucia which is where the tour starts with Heritage Safaris. The full and half day safaris start quite early in the morning though (i.e. 5 am). If you're self driving maybe you can meet them at the Imfolozi gate which will take the same amount of time. There are other options too. There's Manyoni Game Reserve that's really close to Zulu Nyala which is great place to safari at. Hello Calum I hired a car at Durban airport in November for this trip. It's a straightforward drive, mostly on a motorway, but it has tolls. These are minimal but make sure you have plenty of change. Having a car in St. Lucia gives the opportunity of exploring the area in addition to the safaris. I booked an extra day's accommodation and think it was well worth it. Enjoy your trip, Brian
