Water shoes are not necessary as you will be swimming off the boat and not going near stones or rocks but if you feel you want to wear them then feel free to take them. I hope this helps.

Good Day. Yes, Barbuda is open for business. I am not sure how many hotels or stay over properties are available (Most high end). I believe the Barbuda ferry is operational. But Excellence Cruises offers a Barbuda for the day tour (Once a week) where they visit for the day with open bar, Half Grilled Lobster Lunch (Seafood Lunch replacement during closed season May and June), 2 amazing beach breaks and taxi transfers all included.
