When my sisters and I went kayaking on Lake Powell, we were on the water for a little over 2 hours. We had the Upper Antelope Canyon Tour booked that morning and the Lower Antelope Canyon Tour booked later that afternoon, so we “squeezed” it in between tours. I was more than satisfied with the 2 hours we spent on the water (mind you we didn’t kayak right to the end of the canyon - we were also leisurely paddling). If you have nothing else planned/booked that day, you can easily spend a good part of the day on the water; but as we had pre-booked tours, we had to limit our time kayaking to fit everything we wanted to see into our schedule.

Water temp is typically upper 50's depending on the spring weather. Air temp is warm enough to swim as well. Best time to get on the water for any sporting activity such as kayaking …

Water temp is typically upper 50's depending on the spring weather. Air temp is warm enough to swim as well. Best time to get on the water for any sporting activity such as kayaking or paddle boarding is early. But for swimming, later afternoon would be warmer.

HI, no it is not warm enough to comfortably swim, it is in the high 50s in early May and warms up to the high 70s in late June, early July.
