As much as 1.7 inches of rain fell on parts of Metro Detroit by Wednesday night, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Weather Predictor Center. It appears that Lake Orion in Oakland County was drenched the most with 3.21 inches of rain over 24 hours, according to the weather service.

A brief respite from the rain appears to be coming later Thursday. A flood warning for four counties — Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw — ended at 10 a.m., and the temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-60s.
