After an old wizard is freed from a mysterious tomb, Doraemon, a robotic cat, along with Nobita Nobi, a pre-teen boy, goes to the Wind Village in order to prevent any mishaps there.

Sparkly dressed paraders bore a tinsel-decked cage containing the stuffed toy through the village while onlookers ... no longer use real cats, lifting Doraemon or HelloKitty dolls instead.
