SYDNEY (Kyodo) -- A Maritime Self-Defense Force frigate has made a port call in Western Australia as Japan bids for a contract to build Australia's new fleet of general-purpose frigates.

France allowed the Russian sailing frigate Shtandart to dock ... there was no reason to prohibit it. The Shtandart ship is a replica of a frigate belonging to Tsar Peter the Great.
