SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The local government here reassured residents on Friday, April 19, that the deep rumbling sounds they have been hearing the past two days were not from Mt. Pinatubo.

The director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) warned that further eruptions and lava flow may occur in Mt. Kanlaon after its explosive eruption Tuesday morning.
