A trestle once used by the Pennsylvania Railroad towers over Route 61 between Pottsville and St. Clair. (FILE) The most famous of the PRR bridges was the trestle over Route 61, north of Saint Clair.
Published between-1880 and 1930. In 1853 when Carnegie joined the Pennsylvania Railroad, trains carried a sense of wonder. At six cents a mile, a ride didn't come cheap, but it guaranteed a thrill.
