Dow, S&P and Nasdaq futures were all in the black, though slightly, even though China announced it was raising its tariffs on U.S. goods again, escalating their trade war.

Major stock indexes fell on Tuesday afternoon as the United States said 104% duties on imports from China will take effect shortly after midnight, while the euro and European equity index futures rose after reports that Germany's political parties reached a deal on a coalition.

The minimum baseline tariff will be 10%. Trump spoke at the White House's Rose Garden after trading in the day session closed. As pre-announced, the U.S. will impose a 25% tariff on all foreign-made automobiles as of midnight.
