A train derailed on the city's southeast side Sunday, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department in a news release.

The derailment was reported around 6:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Southeastern Avenue and South Sherman Drive.

The Fore River Railroad, a 2.5-mile short line in Quincy, Mass., has defied the odds by surviving and thriving for 122 years.
