Actors protested at the Scottish Parliament as MSPs debated a motion to urge the BBC to save the show, filmed in Dumbarton and set in the fictionalised Glasgow area of Shieldinch.

The cast of River City gathered in Edinburgh on Wednesday in a bid to save the 'beloved' soap - which has been running for more than 20 years and is set in Glasgow.
