One person was killed in the parking lot of an adult entertainment club in Adams County’s Berkley neighborhood early Monday morning, sheriff’s officials said.

Minutes later, an Adams County sheriff’s deputy spotted the stolen vehicle at the home of a family member of the suspect and his deceased victim, in unincorporated Adams County near Thornton. When the deputy confronted the suspect, he shot at them, and the deputy returned fire, according to Brighton police and sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Sherman.
