Tottenham ’s Cristian Romero credited Argentina ’s physios with his return to fitness after the defender made his comeback in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. Romero’s first appearance since suffering a thigh injury in the 4-3 defeat to Chelsea on December 8 ended all square, as Spurs recovered from 2-0 down against the high-flying Cherries.

Cristian Romero has made a quite remarkable statement about his recovery from injury having made his return to the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup on Sunday. Romero made his first appearance since December in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Heung-min Son’s late penalty rescued a point for Tottenham, who came from behind to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth in north London. Goals from Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson either side of half-time put the visitors in command but Pape Matar Sarr pulled one back with a fortuitous strike.

Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has been called up to Argentina’s preliminary squad for their World Cup qualifying matches later in March despite not playing competitively this year. Romero has been sidelined with a groin injury since he limped off during Spurs’ 4-3 loss at home to Chelsea on December 8.
