While a stationary atmospheric river dumps rain and snow in northern and central California this week, areas south of Los Angeles, including San Diego, will get significantly less precipitation.
Minimal rain activity has reached the region but more widespread shower coverage is expected for late Thursday into Friday as a weakening atmospheric river moves in off the coast.
