Officers first saw the vehicle around 9:15am, then found it abandoned around two hours later. A witness reported nine police cars were heading north through Carterton earlier this afternoon.

A man was found covered in blood on Birkenhead Avenue on Feburary 4th - and treated in Auckland City Hospital. The man accused was arrested during a search of a Northcote property yesterday morning.
