Reporters ask President Trump about the status of his negotiations with China and, in particular, whether he has spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping amid the ongoing trade war.

Today's Treasury auction showed muted demand, failing to significantly ease market nerves, despite Trump's announcement of a 90 day pause on reciprocal tariffs for most countries, except China, on which tariffs rose sharply to 125%.

Trump said China had been in touch since the imposition of tariffs and expressed optimism that they could reach a deal.
