2019年3月20日 · I recently took my first attempt at the GRE. I basically studied for a week and then went in and took it. I got a 154 Verbal/151 Quantitative. I'm trying to get into an engineering graduate program, so I need to get my quantitative above 160. I got 155 and 157 on my two ETS practice exams, so I'm not sure why I scored so low on the actual exam!

2021年1月19日 · Do practice tests in near real-time test conditions and make sure to optimize for higher score (ex. find the right order for you to attempt questions and skip the questions that can eat up a lot of time.) Remember GRE is a quantitative reasoning question and not the typical high school math exam.

Edit: While my powerprep pro estimated quant scores were 167 and 170, my quant scores on the magoosh gre practice tests were 157 and 162, so when you average all four scores out, it actually turns out to be exactly 164--my actual quant score on the GRE.

2024年3月18日 · I really suck at quant. On my first practice test I got a 139. I just took the gre and got a 149 with a month of studying. Not the best score obviously but pretty realistic for the time I had to study. I liked magoosh videos the best. I paid for Kaplan, GregMat and magoosh. I thought both sets of videos were helpful.

Approach the test with that conception in mind, and focus intently on the question in front of you with one goal in mind: getting a CORRECT answer. 2022年4月14日 · Your verbal score is good, but you may want to consider retaking it just to boost your quantitative score to at least 165+ in order to have a chance at top programs. Otherwise, you should be good for middle-higher ranked programs. From my experience applying to grad school, GRE's and GPA's can never help you, only hurt you.
