2007年9月9日 · Water is the key to unlock hostas in the south Ms. Butler repeated in so many different ways during my visit. She waters from February or March until September or early October. It is daily, deep watering during the heat of the summer--- twice a day deep watering---that keeps the 200 plus hostas in the Sissinghurst Gardens growing and blooming.

Frida's Hostas is heaven for hosta lovers. I have been fortunate enough to deal with them both on-line and (after a road trip) in person. The selection of plants was amazing and all were healthy and well maintained. This company's love of hostas and those of us who use them as the mainstay in our shaded gardens is readily apparent.

1997年1月1日 · Jim's Hostas are at the top of my list for hosta suppliers. Great plants, great service, and reasonable prices. I placed a $150 order in mid-May, and had the plants in about two weeks. This is a little longer than others, but OK because they set that expectation up front, and delivered on it. Plants were outstanding.

2012年5月27日 · Before Hostas emerge you can pour 2/10 solution around the crowns to kill any eggs. Also I have some Deadline Force II slug bait, for big problems. It does contain Metaldehyde which is considered to be toxic, however it is in a liquid form and you use only one drop every six to twelve inches around the flower beds or Hosta beds.

2007年5月15日 · Does anyone know of a weed killer that I can spray on the weeds in my hosta bed that won't harm the hostas? I don't mind pulling an occasional weed, but I have a sudden explosion of teeny-tiny weeds. I don't know what they're called, but if I sat there and pulled each one, I'd be weeding for at least a year.

Very nice small display garden. Have bought over the last 3 years. Good quality plants, pricy but many unique hostas. Has over 80 registered hostas of lakeside origin. Look for some fantaastic "Black" hostas in the future. They are now only selling their own registered hostas and seedlings. They will treat you fairly and tell you like it is!

A friend recommended "Made in the Shade Gardens" as her favorite hosta site. She knows a lot about hostas having over 75 plants in her garden. My 6 plants came on time and looked terrific. I planted them a few days ago and they look more healthy than my older hosta plants that are just emerging. The new plants continue to look healthy and strong.
