When you set foot in the cathedral, you can’t help but be overwhelmed by its majestic dimensions. The entire space expresses who God wants to be for mankind. You can really feel that you are a guest in ‘God’s House’, which is also your house.

The Cathedral hosts no less than three permanent concert series! In addition, special concerts can be heard regularly, in keeping with the Cathedral's mission to bring religious music within the appropriate time frame.

The Cathedral of Our Lady Antwerp is the diocesan church of the Diocese of Antwerp. As such, the cathedral wishes to play a pioneering role in terms of liturgy, proclamation and charity.

The cathedral is so much more than a stone building. It is a house of God and of people. Every day, dozens of staffers join forces to sustain this building and give every visitor and passer-by a warm welcome. Meet some of our staffers.

Antwerp’s Cathedral of Our Lady was originally built as a parish church. The Cathedral of Our Lady was overseen by a group of priests whose main task was to assure daily prayers. Today the bishop still surrounds himself with priests who take joint responsibility, as canons of the cathedral chapter, for the spiritual life in the cathedral.
