2012年12月7日 · I want to convert .PNG files to .ICO files. I want to do it locally with out any internet dependency (so I can't use online tools like converttoico.com etc). I found a wonderful tool called png2ico, but it has a restriction that it can only convert images of size 1X1 to 256X256.

To convert PNG to ICO, setting the sizes you want, and preserving transparency: (works for ImageMagick 7.0 or newer) convert -background transparent "favicon.png" -define icon:auto-resize=16,24,32,48,64,72,96,128,256 "favicon.ico" In this example, the ico file will have 9 entries: 16x16 px, 24x24 px, etc (assuming it is square)

2016年12月2日 · When you created a new icon resource file in the prevoius step, a lot of default icon of different sizes and format was also created and are accessible from the panel on the left, e.g. "256x256, 32 bit, PNG" and "48x48, 8-bit, BMP", etc.

Convert the image to .ico format using the python interface to ImageMagick, PythonMagick; I have not tried this approach. The ImageMagick convert command line program was able to convert a .png file to .ico format, so at least ImageMagick supports the .ico format.

After installing png2ico you can run following command to generate required ico file. png2ico myicon.ico icon_16x16.png icon_32x32.png icon_64x64.png icon_128x128.png Note that the ico file has limitation that the maximum size supported is height < 256 pixels and width < 256 pixels.
