2020年5月21日 · For the past 2.5 years I have been working as a premium auditor for an insurance company. I initially took the job thinking it would involve some sort of accounting or be accounting-adjacent but learned it is more or less data entry and not very challenging or fulfilling.

2016年6月9日 · To sit for the exam, you only need 24 semesters units of accounting subject and 24 semester units of business-related subjects. It looks like the certificate would cover those units, though you would need more (20 semester units of accounting study, 10 semester units of ethics), though those may have been covered during your undergraduate courses.

2022年10月6日 · There is a huge vacuum of missing talent in the Accounting profession right now. Every firm cannot hire enough people. This is forcing them to pay much more and treat their people much better than they have in the past. I would encourage you to look into the profession. All you need is the accounting minor at UCLA. Starting salaries are $60-70K.

2021年6月8日 · I honestly probably would’ve stuck with SMC except they only offered the classes I wanted during the workday and I was still working full-time. Extension classes are mostly evenings/weekends. I had more in common with students at UCLA too, a lot of people in their late 20s/early 30s doing a career change.

2024年1月3日 · In the meantime, I want to gain comprehensive knowledge in accounting and also want to pass the CPA. Initially, I wanted to do MAcc, but with prerequisite and GRE/TOEFL requirements, I am leaning toward doing an accounting certificate program to gain the knowledge and fulfill CPA education requirements as well.

2022年6月16日 · Same situation here, I was planning to take the UCLA accounting certificate I already finished couple courses , but some guy in CPA subreddit said NASBA didn't count his ethics course as accounting credit so I am really worried now

So I thought: "Why not take 2 classes at UCLA Extension to fix that?" and ended up taking 8 quarter units of NPO and Forensic accounting courses (which are very common online courses that my school does not offer). HOWEVER, UCLA Extension uses a quarter system, where 4 units = ~2.67 semester hours/credits. So I'm left with 29.34 credit hours.

Youll need to minor in it probably, and may need to take some extra classes and whatever you don’t get, you can always address in a graduate program or even a simple certificate program after you graduate (you need 150 hours for the cpa anyways so you could get a masters or take certificate classes online or whatever you …
