2022年8月10日 · This is really worth it, however, as your guitar will be much more “playable” after having the action set properly. As for strings, any standard “light” set should be fine. Coated strings last longer, and I’ve always found that “phosphor bronze” strings are a bit more mellow and also loose that new-string “crashy” sound quicker.

I've been using d'addario phosphor bronze, custom light. Sounded pretty good at first, but lots of squeak and they only last like a month.

2022年12月28日 · I use Earnie ball earthwood strings. I mix the sizes depending on which tones I’m into at the time but for just casual playing I always go for lights. 2011年9月12日 · I actually play D'Addario strings with both my electric guitar and my acoustic. I use them for finger picking mostly and normally my acoustic guitar is tuned down 2 whole steps. It is a bit unconventional to use extremely large strings to finger pick (especially when you don't have fingernails). What it comes down to is what the player enjoys most.

Edit: thank you all for the feedback. I picked up some earnie ball steel & silk 11-52s, which is perfect because Ive used 11 gauge acoustic strings forever. I love the warm tone it gives without sacrificing volume or anything else. Plus they feel excellent for barre chords - it reminds me of the softness of uke strings in a good way

2022年9月9日 · I'm currently updating an article I wrote about the best acoustic guitar strings. Now, I've found that I keep coming back to the same two sets. The D' Addario EJ16's and the Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze, both in a standard 12 gauge. Do you agree, or do you have any alternative strings you've found that work better for strumming in particular.
