2016年5月21日 · The Borg Symbol of a red clawed hand on a black background is seen only once, in the TNG episode, Descent. I've never seen it used aboard a cube or any other Borg vessel or by the Queen. Indeed, the Borg color scheme seems to be green, black, and silver, with the only red being seen was with some eye implants.

I.e. when they encounter a species that has no verbal communication, and only communicates through pictographs, this symbol would be equivalent to hailing a ship and letting them know, in that species' language, "We are the [SYMBOL].

The Borg claw symbol appears inside the Borg ship in "Q Who", and later in the compound that the Borg used as a base in "Descent", suggesting that it was something that both the Collective and individual Borg identify with.

Whether it was an intentional attempt at some kind of Organic-Synthetic Ascension that failed(?), an attempt at unity similar to what the Bynars had that went too far, or the creation of an overzealous AI (which itself would need a creator), at some point organics had a hand in the creation of the Borg, either directly or indirectly.

On the other hand this core efficiency might have become a symbol that speaks to the Borg's 'spiritual' obsession with efficiency, as we saw in "The Omega Directive" in Voyager.
