The piece was purchased at an antique shop, and it was uniquely framed – encased in glass on both sides, so that the embroidered piece floated in the middle of the frame, and any wall behind it showed through.

I’ve never had a problem damp blocking embroidery with Soie d’Alger, when misting the embroidery. I have had color run when I’ve soaked the embroidery, especially if the water is at all warm.

2007年12月22日 · Position the embroidery over the mounting board, centering it carefully, then turn the embroidery over, placing it face down on your work surface. I use a pencil and lightly draw the position of the mounting board on the back of the embroidered piece. That way, if anything gets knocked or the work slides about, it’s no big deal.
