Cynodontia - Wikipedia
Early cynodonts have many of the skeletal characteristics of mammals. The teeth were fully differentiated and the braincase bulged at the back of the head. Outside of some crown-group mammals (notably the therians), all cynodonts probably laid eggs.
Cynodont | Skull, Characteristics, & Habitat | Britannica
cynodont, (clade Cynodontia), any of a group of mammal-like reptiles of the order Therapsida that existed from the Late Permian to the Early Cretaceous Epoch (259.5 million to 100.5 million years ago). Fossil evidence suggests that mammals evolved from cynodont stock early in the Jurassic Period (201.3 million to 145.0 million years ago).
Palaeos Vertebrates Cynodontia Overview
Even the earliest cynodonts, the Procynosuchidae of the Late Permian, show many advanced mammalian characteristics, such as a reduced number of bones in the lower jaw, a secondary bony palate and a complex pattern of the crowns of their cheek teeth.
CINODONTES Cynodonts - paleozoobr
Palaeos Vertebrates Cynodontia
In the unbroken evolutionary sequence from reptile to mammal, the cynodonts are intermediate between earlier and more primitive theriodont therapsids and the earliest mammals.

The cynodonts ('dog teeth') (clade Cynodontia) are a clade of therapsids that first appeared in the Late Permian (approximately 260 Ma), and extensively diversified after the Permian–Triassic extinction event. Cynodonts had a wide variety of lifestyles, including carnivory and herbivory.
A new early‐diverging probainognathian cynodont and a revision …
2024年1月29日 · In this contribution we focus our study on the probainognathian cynodonts discovered in levels of the Tarjadia Assemblage Zone. We describe a new chiniquodontid cynodont with transversely broad postcanine teeth (Riojanodon nenoi gen. et sp. nov.) which is related to the genus Aleodon.
