For a short period, it was recommended to administer Cydectin (moxidectin) by injection. However, new information suggests that the oral route is preferred. If the cattle injectable is used, FARAD recommends a 120-130 day meat withdrawal time.

2009年2月3日 · It is recommended that the cattle injectable formulation of moxidectin (recently approved by FDA) be used in goats because moxidectin has a superior pharmacokinetic profile in goats when administered by subcutaneous injection as compared to when administered orally.

There are only a few drugs approvedby the FDA to be used in goats. Use of drugs listed as “extra- label” is legal only if prescribed by your veterinarian in the context of a valid client-patient relationship.

Most common macrolide dewormers are ivermectin (Ivomec) and moxidectin (Cydectin). So far, only fenbendazole and morantel tartrate are approved for use in goats. All others, such as Cydectin and Ivomec, would be used as extra-label. A number of these dewormers have gone off patent and are now marketed under different generic names.

2016年7月31日 · I and most other goat owners in my area use Cydectin pour on (given orally) for cattle. The dosage for that is 1 cc per 20lbs. And it will knock out the worm load and see improvement most of the time by that evening or next day.
