The clearance between the bottom of the drawer and top of the bed is only 1/8". With load, the drawer bottom sags a little. I would probably make the gap 1/4" and/or put in thicker drawer bottoms. Its still no bothersome enough where I would want to change it now, but I would make it 1/4" if I would do it again.

2022年6月20日 · Specifically I have some beautiful 3/4" maple plywood that I got from my uncle that I think would make a beautiful headboard, and I would like to use bed rail fasteners so that it can be disassembled somewhat. Otherwise it literally just needs to fit a queen bed and ideally hold it off the ground for some storage space underneath.

2010年9月17日 · Squeaking is a common issue with DIY bed frames as myself and others have found. Need to do some research on this! I attribute my failure (it creaks a small amount occasionally) to two bolts being too close together on each leg.

I made some changes compared to their design. My is taller, the mattress will sit about 6" deep rather than level with the base, and the trim pieces sit on top of the rails, covering the entire castle joint. I also opted against integrating a headboard. Down the road I will make one that will be french cleated to the wall above the bed.

2023年3月5日 · So I did the bed rail hack with a slight twist. I followed the linked video but cut my rails to about 33 inches to keep the front factory tie down and I added D-rings and Eye Bolts. To the Eye Bolts I've clipped on some extention cord holders so I can easily hold grocery bags.

2020年8月8日 · I made my own bed because I was sick of years on creaky metal frames and wooden slat beds. I made the frame from 2x4's with 7 legs braced on all sides by triangles made of 3/4 MDF. Topped it with more MDF.

2020年10月1日 · Drill a 1/2" hole through the mating plate and bed frame side From the inside of bed frame, place: welded plate, edge of bed frame, mating plate, nylon spacer, bushing. This is a little better tech than the plan I've seen. Went with 1/2 round bar stock instead of a 3/4" pipe. Could go with a bearing, but not sure about load.
