I can go three layers on the tower assembly, but it gets a bit shakier than what they advertise on TV, so I deploy webbing tie down straps to snug up the assembly. I had rigged a temporary platform that I used to hang drywall and it worked well but I had to remove it because it was anchored into the structural framing and I needed to hang drywall where it was anchored.

Mar 15, 2017 · You are under estimating the needed scaffolding to do this wall. Width needs to be 12' min. with three sets of uprights, and should be 20' feet high. If you can find steel scaffolding, you would need 12 upright frames and 16 cross bars. A couple 16' x 2 x 10's or 12's to walk on.

Jan 11, 2011 · If you hired me to do the job, I would just rent the scaffolding. Very inexpensive to rent. Most good rental places will have it. To go 16' you will need 6 frames, 4 safety braces, and 2 aluminum plank. You can rent it cheaper then you can buy the 2x4's. Scaffolding is nothing to mess around with. do not build your own.

The use 2" x 4" and #9 wire to lace and support the scaffolding in opposing directions and stiffeners down to stakes in the ground as previously shown. I owned a scaffolding company back many years ago and homeowners were always the biggest safety issue we experienced. Be safe out there.

Feb 2, 2012 · I'm with Titanmen on this, as I too spent 15 years in a wheelchair. not because of scaffolding, but running a hydraulic man lift under a steel beam 27' high and my back hitting the beam leaving me totally paralyzed on one side. I had 26 different companies I could sue for lack of a $9.00 safety bar over control levers

Apr 24, 2023 · The straps look very effective at putting the scaffolding into tension and tightening everything up, it seems to be a really common approach. Normal Baker frame does not have any cross bracing unlike the 5x6 scaffolding. Leaving the straps on outside for an extended period of time taking a beating from the sun and weather... probably not a good ...
