The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is the world’s largest military aviation museum. With free admission and parking, the museum features more than 350 aerospace vehicles and missiles and thousands of artifacts amid more than 19 acres of indoor exhibit space.

The US Air Force Museum is located on the grounds of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. There are two Blackbirds in the museum, the SR-71 is located in the main museum complex, in the center hangar known as the Modern Flight Gallery.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force traces its birth to 1923 at McCook Field near Dayton; it moved to Wright Field in 1927. The museum closed from 1940 to 1954 due to urgent need for administrative space to support the war effort and postwar USAF growth.
