Deathstorm was one of the meta-human criminals employed by Zoom as one of his enforcers to keep the other criminals of Central City in line, others being Ronnie's wife Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost and dealt directly with one of Zoom's lieutenants, Francisco Ramon/Reverb.

After committing several mass serial murders, Deathstorm was confronted by a newly upgraded Frost who now had the same powers as him. After the two fought throughout the city, Frost absorbed Deathstorm into herself, killing him and her in the process.

It then attacked Frost and kidnapped Caitlin Snow and took her to an amusement park, where Deathstorm kills four people and feeds off their grief. Confronting Caitlin, she thinks it wants to kill her, but Deathstorm explains that it wants to transform her into an energy being, so she will be its bride, and then burns her again.
