Decoloniality (Spanish: decolonialidad) is a school of thought that aims to delink from Eurocentric knowledge hierarchies and ways of being in the world in order to enable other forms of existence on Earth. [2]

Decoloniality refers to the logic, metaphysics, ontology and matrix of power created by the massive processes and aftermath of colonization and settler-colonialism. This matrix and its lasting effects and structures is called "coloniality."

In On Decoloniality Walter D. Mignolo and Catherine E. Walsh explore the hidden forces of the colonial matrix of power, its origination, transformation, and current presence, while asking the crucial questions of decoloniality´s how, what, why, with whom, and what for.

Decoloniality.org is a repository created to collect resources developed during several years of teaching courses about decoloniality. Here we present projects, articles, books, and storymaps that have emerged from dialogues with activists, authors, ritual practitioners, film-makers, artists, students, and cultural workers.

Today decoloniality is everywhere, it is a connector between hundreds, perhaps thousands of organised responses delinking from modernity and Western civilisation and relinking with the legacies that people want to preserve in view of the affirming modes of existence they want to live.

Decoloniality is primarily an educational means by which to undo colonial structures deeply embedded in the social-political, institutional, and cultural organization of formerly colonial people.
