DRAM is much faster than any SSD or other solid state storage device. Generally, you can put it to be at least 5-10 times faster, depending on frequency, generation and the SSD you are comparing it with. SRAM is even faster than DRAM, at least a few times more.

Some drives treat part of their storage as SLC flash memory for a speed boost at the cost of capacity, but DRAM is (so far) always faster. Linus tech tips did a video or two on DRAM-less SSDs and they were basically junk. Low quality memory that was slower than a HDD in many cases due to no DRAM so they could sell a drive for $10-20 cheaper.

To write to an SSD, to say change a single byte, the SSD must perform a whole load of steps that are, well, embarrassing in my opinion (for use as ram). The data where the byte is to be changed must be read into, a DRAM buffer in the SSD. The byte is then changed in the SSD'S DRAM no less.
