2020年12月25日 · Looking to hear of how the 1/3 cord ventilated bulk firewood bags are doing with regard to seasoning times. I burn mainly red oak that I get after storms on my farm. A few weeks ago a big poplar took out 2 beautiful red oaks (40" diameter) so …
Wrapping firewood in plastic | Hearth.com Forums Home
2014年1月29日 · The plan is to either wrap it in bundles or large heavy-duty bags, then I'll take out what I need as I need it and put it on my back porch. I don't burn a lot of wood so I'm ok with the extra work involved, but just want to make sure there aren't any obvious problems I'm missing with storing wood sealed in plastic.
Bulk Firewood Storage bags for seasoning? - Hearth.com Forums
2017年2月15日 · You might read up on "builder's bags" as common vernacular in the UK. 1 cubic meter, I remember seeing a link here to a wood seller in Sterling, Scotland that had basically a big greenhouse filled with builder's bags of wood that went in green and came out seasoned. 2012年12月30日 · When I sold firewood years ago I used the cages from the IBC 275/330 gallon liquid totes. i used to get them free all the time and now I can't seem to find them for less than 75 bucks a pop. 3/4 full is about the perfect weight that my little tractor can safely move with 500lbs of counterweight.

large scale firewood management | Hearth.com Forums Home
2021年5月26日 · Storing 75 cords of wood (three year rotation) is a lot and may not be worth space/ infrastructure unless you had it already available. I would separate storage from sourcing the firewood right now. Seems to me that you need an easy, fast to transport the the fire wood look at IBC totes or firewood bags.
Trying 3 methods of red oak seasoning - Hearth.com Forums
2021年1月21日 · Just built a new house so I am starting from scratch. All the wood is from a recently fallen red oak (with the exception of a few rows of pecan on top of one of the IBC totes). All wood has been split between December 30 2020 and January 21 2021. The goal is to have firewood ready to burn next fall and simplify the handling of it.
Storing firewood inside in a plastic container
2020年1月20日 · A friend of mine got one of those plastic mini-greenhouses, stuck it in the sun, and filled it with firewood. Water was running down the walls for a couple weeks, then it quit and that wood was bone dry. Maybe add a small fan to the …
