The DAD primarily takes into account the German emigration ports of Bremen/Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Brake, Emden and Cuxhaven. The ports of Boulogne, Cherbourg, Le Havre and Southampton as well as other ports are also partly included.
The first part of this presentation of the 1854 passenger lists of immigrant vessels arriving in the port of Baltimore appeared in 1982 in THE REPORT 38 on pp. 52-109. It comprised the lists of 18 ships as they were recorded by H. F. Wellinghoff, agent of the German Society of Maryland. The remaining 21 lists are presented here.
