Harbor Freight planer decent buy? - Woodworking Talk
2013年11月10日 · Ive had my planer for a couple years and I love it and Ive had zero problems with it. That said, I mostly do lathe work so my planer dosnt get the workout that some would put it through. Id also check CL for a used planer. A used Delta or DeWalt is gonna be alot better than the brand new HF model.
Harbor Freight 6" Jointer - Woodworking Talk
2012年8月17日 · 2 different tools, with some crossover. A planer is for thicknessing, taking rough lumber down to a specific thickness. A jointer is more for making an edge straight and sqaure to the adjacent face (the one along the fence). A jointer can be used as a planer in that the face of a board can be run if the board is not wider than the jointer.

new DeWalt planer - recommend a metal detector?
2018年3月3日 · Reclaimed wood often has dirt and sand in the wood fibers which is going to wear badly on the knives. As far as finding nails I would think the cheapest metal detector you could find would take care of that job. I picked up one at harbor freight I sometimes use to find lumber company staples in the wood I'm using.
Is this a Harbor Freight planer? - Woodworking Talk
2024年6月16日 · It probably isn't Harbor Freight. I don't think it will help you to know who made it, it's old enough parts would be discontinued. You will need to find a handle off a different tool and modify it to fit your planer or just make the part. If you really need to know the maker you might post your question at Old Woodworking Machines forum, owwm.org.

Harbor Freight 6" Jointer | Page 2 | Woodworking Talk
2012年7月21日 · I got the 6 inch Harbor Freight jointer recently. I am still fighting with it. Pros: The motor has plenty of power and I haven't had it bog down. It's nice and heavy and stable. The construction is sturdy. The tables, from what I can tell, are flat. Though they are a little rough. The fence is nice and flat too. Cons: It's a pain in the ass to ...

HF Bauer 12 1/2 Inch 15 amp Planer - thoughts? - Woodworking …
2018年2月2日 · I bought one, and finally have had the chance to use it. It worked like a charm. My boards are flat and level, and have no issues with it at all. Overall I am very pleased with this planer. There are replacement blades available at Harbor Freight for $25.00. The SOB is heavy, that's for sure. The dust collection seems to work fine.
Harbor Freight Wood Planes - Woodworking Talk
2015年8月4日 · You are correct, almost any brand can have some issues. Harbor Freight, Kobalt from Lowes, Buck from Home depot, etc. They can be made to work, sometimes. Some will argue all of the time. I have heard several occasion of Lie Nielsen planes that had to go back. I hate Stanley Handyman planes. I have had some that took an enormous amount of work.
