    Where did Hideyoshi come from?
    Hideyoshi originated from the Kinoshita clan, a minor clan with various opinions on its origin. After serving Oda Nobunaga in war, he changed his family name to Hashiba and started the Hashiba clan to gain a noble lineage with the Konoe family. He was appointed kampaku and changed his family name to Toyotomi in 1586.
