2017年2月3日 · Both the Surface RT and Surface 2 run a re-compiled version of Windows 8.1 called "Windows 8.1 RT". The tablets cannot run regular Windows software and only software available in the "Store" app. There is no way around it!

2020年10月16日 · Unfortunately, the Surface RT is based on the ARM architecture, meaning that x86 apps (including Google Chrome) cannot run. The only browser that will work on the Surface RT is Internet explorer. Also, it is worth noting that support for the RT has ended, so Chrome will never run on the RT.

2013年11月13日 · As the IE browser that came with the surface cannot be used to operate this forum i'd like to install another browser. How do i install Google chrome or Mozilla Firefox on Surface? Windows RT runs on a different platform than Windows 8/8.1. Google and Mozilla would have to write their browsers for said platform.
