2017年9月11日 · I've shot/tested smoothbore Deerslayers, Rifled Deerslayer 2's and a Rifled "Deerslayer 1" The Deerslayer 2's with rifled barrels shoot great in 20 and 12ga. The Deerslayer 1 12ga with a rifled barrel (King Ferry). Was the best shooting of the group. Yes, it was a detachable barrel, but fit very tightly.

2005年2月4日 · The Deerslayer barrels only come one way,they are bored to shoot slugs.You can get a rifled which is best or a smoothbore deerslayer.For grouse I would use an Improved cylinder or modified choked barrel. I am assuming that your Ithaca is a pre choke tube gun.

2022年9月24日 · Having had extensive experience with slug guns I can tell you Ithaca Deer Slayer was the most accurate going back in smooth bore days. The Ithaca 37, Rem 870 and Rem 1100 were the most common in these parts. The Remingtons shot average well, 3” to 6” at 100yds with Foster Slugs. But it was not unusual to get one that wouldn’t group at all.

2010年7月7日 · 4. FINALLY - As I get older, and have to look at the iron sights of the Deerslayer, I have a harder and harder time aligning them. I would really like to have a good set of iron sights on the gun that I can see.

2014年6月15日 · I recently acquired an Ithaca 37 Deerslayer police special 12 gage Parkerized with no roll stamping, a 16 1/2 inch barrel, Raybar sight and sling mounts, plain stock and stamped H.P.D. Serial number in the 987xxx range, which dates to 1967. I have a bought the book from Mr. Snyder, but can’t find much information on the shotgun.

Anyone looking to purchase that gun knows it's an Ithaca Model 37 Deerslayer. They sell at auction for between about $240 to $440 then the buyer pays $50 and $20 FFL fees.

2010年5月26日 · Ithaca 37's are fine pump guns, and especially for shooting slugs, but they are an old design and have had some revisions. The most important to decide what to do is determine which style threading the barrel has. The cutoff is 855,000. Before 855,000, the barrel must be fitted to the action, and I think they are usually serial numbered.

2020年11月8日 · So then there's an early "DEERSLAYER" barrel listed on eBay and I buy it. Well it fit but with way too much headspace. My brother says just shoot it, until I read about a surplus Model 37 blowing up because it had the wrong barrel in it. I hit these Forums for answers. It seems impossible to get onto Ithaca Gun Owners Forum.

2018年2月3日 · King Ferry Ithaca did produce a 16 gauge rifled Deerslayer barrel for the older Model 37's. We fit many of them for a few years. Ron Sharp in Canada was the last to have any that were new/un-fit, but now are gone. I own one, and it's a tack driver. Now, Lightfield has discontinued there 16 gauge slugs.
