How do I take care of Kneaded Erasers?
2009年3月28日 · Due to this I buy several kneaded erasers at a time and throw a few in my backpack, car, trailer, pocket, etc. Occasionally I collect the opened erasers and put most of them in my tin superman pencil box, which is with my drawing supplies. Because of this I have open and used kneaded erasers that are over a year old.

2019年11月27日 · Most of my kneaded erasers got hard over time. Regular erasers turn hard over time too except the white ones which get oily when they get old. A Windsor and Newton kneaded eraser that I had “melted” and turned into a puddle of goo. Erasers go bad in one way or another as they get old. When they do I replace them.

We do everything to keep them soft and pliable, but they end up–even in little closed plastic jars–turning hard and useless. Of course the kids don’t knead them, as they should, they just want ready-use, no- effort. Anyone have an idea how to keep kneaded erasers usable.?

2005年9月21日 · Kneaded erasers have to be rubbed against the paper to lift the graphite whereas, Blutack can be shaped and just pressed against the spot you want to lift…it is more controllable, you can just keep pressing and lifting until you get the desired efffect.

2012年2月11日 · I just bought a Faber Castell kneaded eraser and it is softer than the regular kneaded erasers and kneads really easy and picks up things like eraser crumbs wonderfully! Also works on the pastels just push it down on the area you want to erase and lift it off or dab it, using a clean spot each time, it works great!

I have used the kneaded variety with no ill effects, but my go-to eraser is the Pentel Clic Eraser. Erases pencil cleanly from anything, and hasn’t damaged watercolor paper yet.

2009年9月23日 · I use both BluTack by Bostic and regular kneaded erasers – neither of which are very expensive at all. I find they both have uses at which they excel and I would not start a drawing without either. The suggestion of holding your eraser in your hand is an excellent one.
