Olowalu is a community on the west side of the island of Maui in the state of Hawaii. It is located about 4 miles (6 km) south of Lahaina on the Honoapiʻilani Highway. It is a census-designated place (CDP), with a population at the 2020 census of 100.

2016年11月6日 · Wonderful beach for snorkeling with the turtles and plenty of parking. Narrow beach in spots with plenty of trees for shades. Park right off the road and walk 20 feet to the beach. You have to get out at least 200 to 300 yards from shore to see the best coral and fish, many people are too close to shore.

This long strip of golden sand sits right at the base of Olowalu Valley and next to Olowalu Village, and while it's become famous as a snorkeling spot, it can also make for a nice place to just sit and wade with young children.

Olowalu Beach is a snorkelers paradise on West Maui, thanks to the shoreline reef and the excellent visibility. Nicknamed Mile Marker 14 because, well, that’s where it is, Olowalu Beach is unassuming from the road, but a treasure trove beneath the waves.

2023年3月9日 · Olowalu is a great little town in West Maui with a rich history that’s perfect to spend the day exploring. Marked by an iconic tunnel of monkeypod trees that cover the road, you’ll drive through Olowalu on your way to popular destinations such as Lahaina or Ka'anapali.

Olowalu is home to a manta ray and turtle ‘cleaning station’, a black tip reef shark nursery, and a myriad of colorful tropical fish- it’s an underwater wonder. You’ll love seeing the turtles swim up and congregate to allow fish such as tangs, wrasse, and to clean their shells and flippers by eating the algae away.
