At Ohio State, Johnson lettered all four years, leading the team in tackles in 1984 & 1985. He earned All-American Honors in 1985 and ended his college career with 379 tackles, 5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and was inducted into the OSU Hall of Fame in 2001.
