Point Arena Light is a lighthouse in Mendocino County, California, United States, two miles (3 km) north of Point Arena, California. It is approximately 130 mi (210 km) north of San Francisco, in the Fort Point Group of lighthouses. The lighthouse features a small museum and gift shop.

When traveling north from Point Reyes, the next prominent point along the California coast is reached after sixty-eight miles. Known by early explorers as Punta Barro de Arena, Spanish for Sand Bar Point, the feature is now known simply as Point Arena.

Surrounded by water on three sides, and shouldered adjacent to the Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands, the Point Arena Lighthouse is the premiere visitor destination in Mendocino County. Visit the gift shop and museum with its historical artifacts and tall tales of lighthouses.

To maintain in perpetuity, the historic Point Arena Light Station – including the 23 coastal acres it encompasses, its 115 ft. Lighthouse Tower and its 1896 Fog Signal Building – for the inspiration, education and the enjoyment of all generations to come.

Point Arena Lighthouse is located on rocky Point Arena where the beaches are inaccessible. The lighthouse offers tours daily including a hike up the stairs to the top. This is one of the tallest lighthouses on the California Coast and the only tall one (115 feet) you can climb up inside.

Today visitors can climb the tower and marvel at the magnificent California coast, with its redwood forests and abundant sea life, on what seems like the edge of the world. In fact, Point Arena is the closest point on the U.S mainland to Hawaii.
