Also it's not a tbn booster so it doesn't really make the oil last longer. I'd only get a 5w-40 diesel oil if i lived in a very cold place or was super concerned about a more fragile engine.

2021年6月3日 · Rotella T 15w40 used to be a good oil for '60s cars after ZDDP levels were reduced when cats came in. The numbers matching guys have switched to the boutique oils with elevated ZDDP levels, around 1200 PPM or even more. If you do not have higher valve spring pressures, Rotella T should be fine or any decent 10w30. I don't use it anymore...

2005年10月21日 · I have only used two brands of oil 15w40 Motorcraft originally when the dealer used to change the oil and as of the last 2-3 oil changes I went with the Shell Rotella T 15w40. No problems with the Motorcraft 15w40 I think it is a decent oil. No problems with the Shell Rotella T 15w40 I think it is a decent oil. Truck likes both.

2015年3月12日 · Perhaps they are the only ones that pursued the approval, but I always thought it was a more shear stable product than Rotella. THe old CJ-4 Delvac 1300 had HTHS of 4.3, The CJ-4 Rotella T5 and T6 had HTHS 3.5. Delo and Rotella T Dino were both 3.7. not sure about the new stuff though.

2015年3月15日 · Noticed Shell has a full Syn 15w40 and 0w40 added to their T6 offerings. Prior to this the T6 was 5w40. Not sure I see a reason for 15w40 full syn when there was already a 5w40 full syn

2010年11月11日 · All the Family, Neighbors and Friends vehicles are "Gasoline" engines. All of the Diesel Oils were API-SM, CJ-4 rated and all of the vehicles were 2006 and earlier. When I get back to Coney Island I will change my oil to a blend of Shell Rotella, Triple Protection 15w40 and Formula Shell 5w20 all in API-SM.
