Ski Pole Baskets | SkiTalk | Ski reviews, Ski Selector
2018年1月13日 · Big baskets are powder baskets, designed for handling deep, off-piste conditions. They provide more of a platform in the deep. Which you mount depends on which condition you mostly ski. Some people (like me, b/c I happen to have two sets of adjustable backcountry poles) actually have two sets of poles mounted with different baskets.

60s era skis | SkiTalk | Ski reviews, Ski Selector
2017年12月27日 · I skied in the 60s and my first pair of skis were similar to the red ones, all wood, but painted. I never used cable bindings, but had slightly more modern bindings with fixed toe and heel pieces when I started at age 14 in 1967. I can tell from the leather connecting the ski pole baskets that this stuff is probably early 60s, if not 50s.
Ski Pole Recommendations | SkiTalk | Ski reviews, Ski Selector
2021年2月5日 · My current ski poles are LEKI carbon with the Trigger S hook-up. I'm thinking to get to get new ski poles with the strap at the handle. I'm looking for poles that: (a) are carbon / carbon composite, (b) have "safety" quick-release straps, and (c) have two baskets (piste and off-piste) that are easily swappable. Any recommendations? Thanks!
