2012年11月14日 · Tarp tipi I've done quite a bit of research on this topic. To make canvas waterproof one would need to wax it. Waxing a huge tarp would take a tremendous amount of time. Not only that it would be back breaking in terms of weight. Also, the inside can still get moist/wet unless you wax the inside too. >.< OOhhh my back, double the weight.

It was basically an A frame structure built under the tarp. A few teepee poles and a long ridge pole replaced the rope. I added some more supports and a house began to take shape.

In these conditions having a good length for your tarp (9-10') and a low to the ground basic A-frame set up gives good protection from wind and angled falling snow.

Fast forward a few years, and due to some health conditions my dad developed we just don't use it like that. New plan is to make it into a hexagonal teepee using one center pole.
