2023年3月10日 · Both occasions I've tried using Turo, the vehicle owner with whom I made a reservation showed up with a vehicle that resembled the reservation, same make and model, different color and different license plate. In both cases I declined (Turo refunded me) and made a reservation with another owner. Makes me wonder if this is a known scam.

Last month we rented a car for the first time on Turo. It was for 3 weeks. When I was confirming to pay for the rental, I paid extra 200 bucks for 'Minimal Protection' plan in case of any minor scratches to the car. The rental for 3 weeks was $1500. During our first week of the trip, a little crack suddenly appeared on the windshield.

I was billed by Turo for $1500 additional to the rental costs, and the bill included $100 for Turo to process the claim. Turo will scam you at every interaction.

The risk of someone stealing the car or burning it and then Turo saying it's in their terms and conditions that they don't pay a penny is ridiculous. This company is a scam, basically they get half your profits when you rent it and then don't take any responsibility for anything even if the driver puts your car on fire. They are a greedy ...

2022年5月17日 · These are fake profiles because hosts are not allowed to take refundable deposits. No such thing. This scam works like this: You book the car, Deposit the “refundable deposit” of 250, 500, whatever it is. Then he cancels trip and deletes his profile. Your money gone. And Turo won’t help you recover your lost money.

Turo does not involve the host's vehicle insurance in the claims process. 2021年9月26日 · We rented a car from a Turo host today. Great car and the host was very friendly. The host took 50 pictures of the car in their pre-trip photos. They were extremely detailed. My wife and I had a great time with the car. We returned the car happy with the trip and I completed the post trip pictures mimicking the ones the host took.
