I opted for the 10th gen because after factoring in the sale price and trade-in, it's only going to cost $250. I have my MBP for heavy lifting, which is why I opted for the base iPad model.

While it's physically compatible with the 5th Gen M1 iPad Pro 12.9", there's a slight thickness difference in the 5th Gen iPad, which means the fit isn't 100% perfect.
