Lily Wu (born 1984) is an American politician and former television news anchor, serving as the 103rd mayor of Wichita, Kansas since 2024. A member of the Libertarian Party, she is the first Asian American mayor of Wichita and the only Libertarian mayor of one of the 100 largest cities in the United States. [1] [2] [3]

Mayor Lily Wu was elected Mayor of Wichita, Kansas in November 2023, and was sworn in as the City of Wichita’s 103rd mayor on January 8, 2024. Mayor Lily is the first woman elected to a full term in the largest city in Kansas. She is the first Asian American mayor in the state of Kansas.

A proud product of Wichita Public Schools and Wichita State University, Lily went on to serve as a local reporter. Throughout her 12-year career as a journalist, she reported on tough stories that revealed the truth to the public.

Lily will lead and serve to help put Wichita in the best possible position for success. Her leadership will increase the number of seats for neighborhoods and businesses to help make decisions that impact our communities.
